Your Experience at Inveraray Jail

Inveraray Jail is more than just a museum – it’s a historical experience brought to life. From the moment you walk through the door, you are free to explore at your leisure (not a privilege the prisoners had!) and interact with our costumed staff who assume the roles of the jail’s occupants.

Visit the courthouse and witness early justice as you face the judge, try out a hammock after the warder locks you in your in your cell, join the prisoners and sample the punishments for your criminal behaviour, then grab some swag in our shop as you make your escape.
