Brilliant experience , we have been to the Jail approx. 4 times over the past 8 years that we have been visiting Scotland, Each and every time we enjoy the whole experience, very informative whilst being fun, well worth a visit - highly recommend.

Very authentic staff and so much to see. Everyone was just so helpful. Included court house, old and new jails and exhibits as well as life stories of the people who passed through the jail. Highly recommended.

Spent nearly 2 hours on this visit. What a place to visit. Take time to read the information, you will learn a lot, very sobering. On a lighter note you can experience first hand the thumb screws, the birch, being strapped to the whipping table, locked in the exercise cells, all good fun.

We visited the jail whilst on a holiday with our family staying near by. This is a must do we all found it very interesting even a little bit spooky at times. The staff around the jail are very helpful and play their roles very well and clearly know their information. There is information around the jail also to read which is very informative.
