The health and well-being of our visitors and team is our highest priority and special arrangements will be in place for the foreseeable future.

With your co-operation we can all ensure that the appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures are adhered to.

OPENING TIMES

Open every day - 10.00am with last admission at 4.00pm (closing at 5.00pm).

PRE-BOOKING NOT REQUIRED, however save money and buy tickets online here.

As an additional choice to the free handsets, we have made our audio guide available to download to your smartphone where you can meet the real characters from the Jail’s past including the Governor, Matron, Warder, and even the prisoners. Scan the QR code with your phone.


CHANGES TO YOUR VISIT

Please be ready to make on-site payments using a ‘contactless’ bank card, rather than cash, where possible.

We have installed new hygiene screens at our service counters to help physically separate visitors from our team.

Visitors will notice new information signage informing them of key safety messages and instructions.

We have introduced hand sanitiser dispensers around the attraction for visitors to use.

We have adapted or suspended some experiences and facilities to ensure that social distancing and hygiene controls are suitably maintained. For example, the provision of interactive exhibits have either been modified or suspended.

We have introduced new capacity limits for our indoor experiences and facilities. These restrictions will help ensure there is plenty of room for social distancing.

We have revised some of our standard operating protocols to reduce the proximity of our team to visitors.


OTHER PROCEDURES

Our team undergo daily non-invasive temperature checks.

Our team now participate in COVID-19 specific training programmes instructing them how to stay safe as well as how to keep our visitors safe.

We have introduced enhanced cleaning measures, throughout the day, which seek to disinfect high frequency touch points, such as handrails, door handles, counters, etc.

As with our team, we politely request that all our visitors uphold the highest possible hygiene standards – whether it be when sneezing or coughing, through regular hand washing or the frequent application of hand sanitiser.

We have introduced new Deep Cleaning measures in the event that a person presents themselves with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 with the use of a disinfectant fogger machine.
